Dierks+Company, a leading strategy and legal consultancy for healthcare and life sciences, is strengthening its expertise in medical law and gaining another experienced lawyer as a new partner in Dr. Martin Krasney (55). The long-standing head of the legal department of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds (GKV-Spitzenverband) will join the Dierks+Company team on 1 September 2024.
Martin Krasney has been responsible for the legal department of GKV since 2008 and advised the board and the association's committees on legal matters. His expertise includes complex contract negotiations with pharmaceutical companies, manufacturers of digital health applications and the relevant associations of service providers. He has also represented the association in arbitration and court proceedings. This included proceedings before the Federal Social Court on fundamental issues relating to benefit assessment and reimbursement procedures as well as constitutional issues, such as the limits of the SHI's funding obligation (BZgA judgement of the Federal Social Court). Before joining the GKV, the lawyer and qualified banker worked for an international law firm in Berlin and Stuttgart.

Martin Krasney is the sixth significant addition to Dierks+Company's team this year. Shortly before the end of the year, Dr. Dominik Roters, then Head of the Legal Department and Deputy Managing Director of the G-BA, joined Dierks+Company as Equity and Managing Partner. Dr. Stefan Lange, previously Deputy Director of the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Healthcare (IQWiG) with proven expertise in the scientific evaluation of medical interventions, joined Dierks+Company as Chief Scientific and Medical Officer. Anja Tiedemann, an experienced specialist in medical and pharmaceutical law, moved from the G-BA to Dierks+Company in April. In July, Prof. Dr. Rainer Schlegel, the long-standing President of the Federal Social Court and a proven expert in social law, joined Dierks+Company as Of Counsel, as did Andreas Propp, a long-standing legal advisor to the G-BA.
