European Strategy for Data and its Implementation in the German Health Data Legislation:
On February 19th, 2020 the European Commission published a Communication Paper on European Strategy for data, which consists of four key points. The Commission wants to:
- Establish a cross-sectoral governance framework for data access and use
- Invest in the infrastructures for hosting, processing and using data as well as fostering interoperability
- Empower individuals and ensure data literacy
- Use these structures to establish Common European data spaces, including a Common European health data space
